Tell Us: What Question Should We Investigate About Charitable Giving?

Illustration of hands giving money to the world.

Here at Goats and Soda, we’re trying something new: We’d like to know what you want us to investigate. Our first call-out was about girls in the developing world. And last week, we asked you to submit questions on global diseases.

Now we’re moving to our next issue: charitable giving.

As the holiday season approaches, Americans will be thinking a lot about how to help the less fortunate. Since we cover global poverty, our blog has a particular interest in the business of charitable giving.

Submit your question in the tool below:

How to decide which aid group to give to? Charities all say they do good work, but how do you know if a group is truly making a difference? Does it help to look at a charity’s administrative costs? Are some causes just easier to raise funds for than others?

Submit a question by Monday, Nov. 14. Then we’ll pick a few and ask our audience to vote on their favorite. We’ll publish a story that answers that question later this month.
