Representative Rick Berg received the North Dakota Chamber of Commerce statewide Greater North
Dakotan Award in recognition of his leadership role in the Legislative Assembly, in the business sector, and
in championing the state’s economic strengths. Representative Berg also received the North Dakota
Petroleum Council’s Outstanding Public Service Award. Presented at its 28th annual meeting, the council
honored Representative Berg for his long-term commitment to creating and maintaining an improved tax
structure and business climate for the state’s oil industry. He was cited for his legislative leadership in
loosening restrictive oil development regulations, in supporting oil development tax incentives, and in
working on tribal land issues.

Park, Fargo, was elected to the Association of University Research Parks Board of Directors.

WOMAN
Concerned Women for North Dakota presented Representative Bette B. Grande with its 2009 State
Legislator of the Year Award for her role in legislative issues related to preserving family, protecting children,
supporting sanctity of life, maintaining parental rights, and honoring veterans.
